People are our greatest asset and a structured approach to training and development at KDP means that every member of staff has the opportunity to develop their skills and expertise.

Every department decides its own comprehensive training initiatives, and individuals have regular one-to-one sessions with managers to discuss personal development.

We need a dynamic, engaged, and skilled workforce to deliver quality products and services with our trademark speed and efficiency. Developing an employee’s skills benefits the individual, their team, and the business.

We positively support in-house advancement. Several KDP employees came to us as trainees and have developed their expertise over years of working here; progressing their careers and taking on more complex roles and responsibilities. In fact, most of our management team joined the company in entry-level roles and worked their way up.

We are constantly investing in our design, print and production technology to ensure we are at the cutting edge of the print industry, so there is always something new and exciting for our workforce to learn.

Every member of our management team across all departments works towards an NVQ Level 3 Team Leader Qualification, delivered on a programme in Collaboration with BPIF.

A couple of years ago we gained our ISO 9001 accreditation which recognised our commitment to supporting staff to develop their skills, in order to deliver quality products and services.

Hands-On Cutting-Edge Technology

We can get very excited about the bits of kit we have in our design, print and production workshop! One of our strategic priorities is to invest in the latest state-of-the-art equipment to ensure high-quality, accurate and fast results.

Our Xeikon 3030 Plus press and state-of-the-art ancillary machinery mean that our team can print labels with 1200dpi resolution in any custom shape or size. This world-class technology enables us to deliver quality, with speed and efficiency. We can produce labels to the highest standard of colour and detail, at a competitive price and quick turnaround.

Our HP Indigo 6900 narrow-web inkjet presses and AB Graphic (ABG) Digicon Series 3 digital roll-fed finishing machine add further top-of-the-range tech to our workshop.

Working with these machines gives our print and production technicians a great deal of satisfaction. We always ensure we develop our teams in all the skills and knowledge they need to use our equipment to its best potential too.

Our management ethos relies on transparent communication and approachability in day-to-day situations and in times of need. We totally understand that supporting our employees’ wellbeing is crucial for both personal and professional growth.

In addition, every department has access to physical and mental health first aiders too; and our fully trained fire marshals and team leaders ensure our teams are safe and prepared to respond to emergencies.

From day one, every new starter is given an overview of our mission and values, so they gain an understanding of what the company is all about. A guided tour of all departments provides an insight into the entire collaborative process involved in selling, producing and delivering quality stickers and labels to our customers across the UK.

It’s important to us that every employee knows that they are an essential part of that process whatever their role. Every individual has their part to play in KDP’s business success story.

Induction covers all the essential company policies, technology and systems training, health and safety training job-specific training. Team-building activities are designed to make them feel at home pretty quick too!

Finally, a series of weekly one-to-one meetings about personal development during their first month kickstarts their career development with KDP.
